THE GUILBERT&GAILLARD GUIDE GIVES COVIÑAS GROUP 8 GOLD MEDALS

The Coviñas Group has started the year with new awards that endorse the quality of its wines and awaken the enthusiasm of its partners and employees. The Guilbert&Gaillard wine guide, an international benchmark for professionals and wine lovers, has recognised the quality of Coviñas wines with 8 Gold medals which have been awarded to the following wines:

  • Aula Macabeo Sauvignon Blanc 2020
  • Aula Verdejo 2020
  • Aula Rosado Bobal 2020
  • Aula Bobal Tempranillo 2019
  • Aula Crianza 2017
  • Enterizo Macabeo 2020
  • Enterizo Bobal Rosé Gold, 90 points
  • Sonrisa Verdejo 2020

It is worth noting that 5 of them have been awarded to the wines that make up the new AULA range, created with the HORECA distribution channel in mind, which the winery presented at the beginning of December.
The vocation of this internationally recognised guide is to promote and prescribe quality wines, representative of a terroir, as well as the know-how of passionate men and women. The group was founded in 1989 by Philippe Gaillard and François Gilbert, who made their debut as collection directors at the Presses de la Cité publishing house. In 1991 they became publishers of guidebooks and magazines themselves.
Today, they run a multimedia group dedicated to wine, present in twenty-two countries. The Gilbert&Gaillard Group is an independent group with no shareholders other than its founders.

At a local level, Coviñas has also received four awards this Christmas from PROAVA, an organisation dedicated to promoting quality products from the Valencian Community. This once again reinforces the winery’s roots in the region and its know-how.
In the category of matured red wines, PROAVA awarded a Gold Medal to AULA Merlot 2016. In the Gran Reserva category, it awarded a Silver Medal to the Enterizo Gran Reserva 2013. Special mention for the Enterizo Reserva 2015, in the Reserva category, and a Bronze medal for the Enterizo Brut, in the Cava Brut category.

Grupo Coviñas is a wine group founded in Requena in the 1960s after the union of the winegrowers of 10 cooperatives in the area, with the aim of promoting their wines and offering the best quality. Nowadays, it holds a leading position in the DOP Utiel-Requena, where it brings together more than 3,000 families around a common project, wine, and owns more than 41% of the vineyards under the DOP UR.
