4th Annual FICIV Festival

The 4th edition of Valencia’s International Children’s Cinema Festival (FICIV) took place from 1st to 7th October 2018.

This year between 6 and 10 thousand students were expected to take part, and one of them, Lucía, a student at the Colegio Machado, was the creator of this year’s poster, with a little bit of help from Victoria Contreras, a professional designer.

Included in the official section of the festival are films from Mexico, Iceland/Norway, Croatia, India, Columbia, and of course Spain.

A number of venues play host to the festival, including the Lys Cinema, the Filmoteca, the Instituto Francés, SGAE, the Ateneo Mercantil, Bioparc, the Corte Inglés and the L’Iber Museum.

The L’Iber Museum, home to the largest collection of toy soldiers and miniatures in the world, is also holding an exhibition in conjunction with the festival called Zulu, about the British Empire in South Africa.

The exhibition can be seen in the Ateneo Mercantil until 7th October.

Another novelty this year is the premiere in Spain of the new Disney film Christopher Robin starring Ewan McGregor.
