28th International Clown Festival

Just as the town of Sueca is synonymous with mime and Albaida with puppetry, so the town of Chirivella, on the outskirts of the city of Valencia is where you would go if clowns are your things.
The 28th edition of Chirivella’s Clown Festival will take place from 23rd September to 6th October 2021.
The 27th edition took place on 7th, 8th, 13th, 14th and 15th November 2020, a reduced edition due to Covid-19 but even so, some laughter was assured.
The programme can be found here:
The 26th edition of the festival was from 8th to 17th November 2019. The international elements were Los Testigos from Portugal and Paula Malik from France.

2018 marked the 25th annual international festival of clowns, with a line-up which last year included acts from Valencia, Catalonia, Canary Islands, Madrid and Castilla León, with the international contribution from the Belgian clowns okidok.

There were 25 performances of 13 different shows both indoors and outside.

The festival included numerous activities for children and adult children, including laughter therapy sessions for the irredemiably depressed.

Unfortunately Phil from Modern Family won’t be attending this year.
