The internationally famous Terracotta Army, a collection of terracotta sculptures showing the soldiers of China’s first Emperor, Qin Shi Huang, will be on display at the Museo Arqueológico de Alicante (MARQ) until January 2024.
The warriors were buried along with the Emperor around 210–209 BCE and rediscovered in 1974 by local farmers in Lintong County, outside Xi’an, Shaanxi, China.
Estimates from 2007 were that the three pits uncovered contained about 8,000 soldiers, 130 chariots and 650 horses.
