A Valencian man spent two days in a tree in Chirles near Polop, Alicante. Surprisingly he was not a student of Dendrology, but had managed to fall into the tree (while most people tend to fall out of them) from a gulley.
As the tree was 10 metres from the ground and he had suffered a broken ankle, he was unable to descend without the help of a passing neighbour and a helicopter.
The man, whose name has been witheld from the press to prevent tasteless jokes and unbearable teasing, is said to be recovering in his home after an unsuccessful attempt to contact The Guinness Book of Records.
The incident does however demonstrate that Valencian men are certifiably tougher than the rest.
