Once again Valencian wines have triumphed at prestigious international wine events. This time Valencian wines invaded Bordeaux, and came back with a fistful of medals.

The French wine festival, Challenge International du Vin surrendered to the Valencian onslaught during its 41st edition, awarding over 20 medals to 8 different Valencian vineyards.

Bocopa (three gold, one silver), Murviedro (two gold, two silver) and La Viña – Anecoop (two gold, one silver, one bronze) were the creme de la crème, while UVE, Coviñas, Sierra Norte, Reymos – Anecoop and Gurgu also received prizes.

Coviñas also scored at the Berliner Wine Trophy, where Diego Morcillo’s team struck gold again.

The gold medals included Aula Macabeo Sauvignon Blanc 2016, a young, white wine, Aula de Autor Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 and Aula de Autor Syrah 2014, two reds.

A new wine, the Veterum Vitium 2016, and an old favourite, Enterizo Gran Reserva 2010, were also rewarded.
