Valencia International School Visits and Activities
Our visits to Seconday schools were a great success, with something for everyone. Unfortunately, these activities no longer take place.
Our first encounter was with the students of IES Benlliure, Valencia, on Monday 20th January 2014. to explain what the newspaper is.
Our next visit was to IES Malilla on Friday 31st January.
and on Monday 3rd February we were at IES José Rodrigo Botet in Manises for most of the morning
On Friday 14th of February we celebrated Valentine’s day at IES Pere Boil in Manises.
On Monday 24th February at 9.00 we were with the students of the Colegio San José y San Andrés in Massanassa.
On 9th April we were in IES Sierra Espadán, Onda, where we did an activity about London with 2 groups of students.
On April 14th we visited Castellón and were with the students of IES Francesc Ribalt thanks to the Richmond-Santillana Publishing Company who sponsored the encounter.

Visits for 2014/5
On Wednesday 24th September 2014 we returned to IES Pere Boil in Manises.to recruit journalists for Valencia International.
And on October 15th and 17th we visited IES Serpis to teach fire safety and to launch our new project ‘2000 years of History on the Valencia Underground’!
On October 24th we were at Colegio San José & San Andres, Massanassa, and on 29th October we were at IES Conselleria.
On 5th November we celebrated Guy Fawkes Day at IES Malilla.
On 21st of November we explained VI to students at IES Gregorio Mayans in Oliva.
On 26th November we were at IES La Serrania, Villar de Arzobispo, where we revealed our Beatles Story activity for the first time.
On 28th November our collaboration with the L’Iber Museum began and a group of adult students from an EPA near the Ayora district of Valencia had a guided tour of the museum and took part in the activity Hollywood & History.
On 1st December a group of students from IES Barri del Carmen visited the L’Iber museum and participated in the Hollywood & History activity.
On 10th December The Beatles visited IES Consuelo Aranda in Alberic. Yeah, yeah, yeah!
On 11th December another group from IES Barri del Carmen visited the L’Iber museum for the Hollywood & History activity.
On 12th December it was the turn of IES Benlliure to experience Hollywood & History.
On 16th December the students of IES Malilla were the first students to undertake our Walking Talking Tour of Alboraya.
On 17th December it was the turn of IES Vel i Vents from Torrent to experience Hollywood & History.
On 19th December IES Serpis went on our Walking Talking Tour of Alboraya.
The new year began at IES Juan de Garay on January 14th, where the students discovered Valencia International and 2,000 years on the Valencia Underground, in two classes sponsored by the Santillana-Richmond publishing company.
On 16th January, students from IES Torre del Rei de Oropesa del Mar, Castellón
visited the L’Iber Museum to explore Hollywood & History.
On 19th January we travelled to the EOI of Utiel to explain to two groups of students there why there is a D in Wednesday.
On 21st of January it was the turn of IES Vel i Vents from Torrent to discover Hollywood & History.
On 23rd of January, students from Colegio San Jose found out the truth behind the film Kingdom of Heaven as part of our Hollywood and History activity.
On February 17th students from the Colegio Trafalgar visited the L’Iber Museum for the Hollywood & History activity. Another group from the same school came the next day on the 18th.
On 24th February we visited La Concepción school in Onteniente, where two groups of students explored Great Britain and London using maps, and discovered a few new things and a few old things. This activity was sponsored by the Santillana-Richmond publishing company.
On 27th February, and after a postponement due to strong winds, the students of EOI Sagunt discovered the Huerta of Alboraya; with strong winds!
On 11th March the students of IES Mallilla were at the L’Iber Museum for our Hollywood and History activity.
On 30th March the students of IES Malladeta came all the way from La Vila Joyosa for our Hollywood and History activity.
On 31st March another group from IES Malilla visited the L’Iber Museum for the Hollywood and History activity.
On 16th April a group from the Misericordia College joined us for Hollywood and History.
On 23rd April we were at the IES Camp de Turia school in Lliria discovering 2,000 years of history on the Valencia Underground. We also premiered our new activity, Spanish Hollywood.
On May 12th and 19th students from the Pio XII school visited the L’Iber Museum for the Hollywood & History activity.
On May 21st we visited the School of Tourism at the UPV Campus in Gandia to present an exciting new project, 101 Locations: A Set Jetters Guide to Spain.
On 1st June we visited Florida State University‘s Valencia centre to tell students and teachers all about Spanish set-jetting, and on June 9th we did the same at American Space on the UPV campus.

We kicked off the 2015/6 academic year with a visit to IES Malilla on November 3rd to spend a morning with 2,000 Years of History on the Valencia Underground, and English etymology too.
On November 4th, IES La Serranía de Villar del Arzobispo visited the L’Iber Museum for the new version of Hollywood & History. The Valencian newspaper EMV Levante was also on hand to write about this original project.
On November 5th a group of 4th year students from the Escuela de Magisterio visited the L’Iber Museum for the new version of Hollywood & History.
On November 8th we started a brand new activity: Here Be Dragons, a new route especially for teachers in Valencia.
On November 14th we were at the Javea Parador presenting the book A Set Jetters Guide to Spain: 101 Locations by Valencia International Editor Bob Yareham
On November 18th a group of students from Colegio Drac, Torrent visited the L’Iber Museum for the new version of Hollywood & History.
On 24th November we visited IES L’Eliana to introduce students to our History Through Films activity.
On 25th November a group of students from IES Cheste visited the L’Iber Museum for the new version of Hollywood & History.
On December 2nd a group of students from IES Visitaegues, Bétera visited the L’Iber Museum for the new version of Hollywood & History.
On December 10th a group of students from IES Benaguasil visited the L’Iber Museum for the new version of Hollywood & History.
On December 15th students from Colegio Nuestra Señora de Fátima took a Wander Through the Huerta in a CLIL activity.
On December 16th a group of students from IES Frances Badia, Foios visited the L’Iber Museum for the new version of Hollywood & History.
On January 12th more students from Colegio Nuestra Señora de Fátima took a Wander Through the Huerta in a CLIL activity.
On January 13th a group of students from IES Cheste visited the L’Iber Museum for the new version of Hollywood & History.

On 19th of January we were at IES La Eliana for a Beatles Festival.
On January 20th a group of students from IES Sorolla will visit the L’Iber Museum for the new version of Hollywood & History.
On January 26th we visited IES Conselleria to premiere our ‘Smoke Gets in Your Eyes’ activity with 2 groups of ESO students.
On January 27th a group of students from IES Benlliure visited the L’Iber Museum for the new version of Hollywood & History.
On February 3rd a group of students from IES Malilla visited the L’Iber Museum for the new version of Hollywood & History.
On February 17th a group of students from Colegio Fatima visited the L’Iber Museum for the new version of Hollywood & History.
On March 9th a group of students from Juan XXIII, Burjassot visited the L’Iber Museum for the new version of Hollywood & History
On April 27th a group of students from IES La Canyada visited the L’Iber Museum for the new version of Hollywood & History.
