NOVELDA’S OSCAR NAVARRO NOMINATED FOR 2020 LATIN GRAMMY AWARDS

Triple nomination for the 21st edition of the LATIN GRAMMY Awards

The music of composer Oscar Navarro, from Novelda, Alicante, has been nominated in three different sections of the “LATIN GRAMMY” awards 2020. The nominations for which he is competing are: best classical music album, best album of the year and best contemporary music work.

His candidacy for best classical music album and album of the year are for the album “La gran gala de verano”, recorded by his own orchestra, the “Oscar Navarro Symphony Orchestra” and produced by the composer and conductor himself.

Among the works included in this new album, it is worth mentioning his famous work “Libertadores” or the B.S.O. Concert Suite for the film “La Mula” for which Oscar Navarro was nominated for the Goya Awards for best soundtrack. On the other hand, it also includes two world premieres: the “III Concerto” for Clarinet and Symphony Orchestra performed by David Van Maele and the pop rock ballad for Symphony Orchestra “Survivors”, performed by Cristina Ramos (Winner of “Got Talent” from Spain and “La Voz” from Mexico among other talent shows).

His third candidacy for these awards is for his new work “III Concerto” for Clarinet and Symphony Orchestra, a work commissioned and performed by the soloist David Van Maele (Belgium) and premiered in 2018 in Alicante (Auditorium of the Provincial Council of Alicante) and Torrevieja (International Auditorium).

“The fact of being on this list and being part of these awards as a candidate, is something I would have never imagined. Moreover, this new album has a very special selection of music for me, with a very big emotional charge”, says the composer Oscar Navarro himself.

Now all that remains is to wait for the next phase, the election of the nominees, a phase in which we hope to find the novelist Oscar Navarro with his “Gran gala de verano” and his “III Concerto” for Clarinet and Symphony Orchestra.
