The Berliner Wein Trophy of 2018 awarded four gold medals to the Murviedro vineyard, including DNA Murviedro Signature EKO 2016, Cueva de la Culpa 2014, Vox Populi Bobal 2015, and La Pepica Monastrell 2017, named after the famous restaurant in Valencia where Hemingway used to misbehave.

Murviedro’s Cepas Viejas 2014 (100% Bobal) received yet another gold medal at the Guilbert&Gaillard competition in París.
Furthermore their Santerra Brut Chardonnay (100%Chardonnay), also went gold and was the only Spanish cava to do so at the TOP 10 international competition Effervescents du Monde held in November 2017 in Dijon (France).
The Asia Wine Trophy was another venue for successful international medal winning for Valencia’s Murviedro wine maker.
The Cueva del Pecado 2012 won the prestigious Great Gold award, while the Cueva de la Culpa 2012, Cueva del Perdón 2012, Murviedro Colección Reserva Bobal 2012, Murviedro Cepas Viejas 2013, Murviedro Expresión Solidarity Cuvée 2011 and the Vega Libre Reserva 2012 all struck gold.
Murviedro’s Bobal wines, Vox Populi and Cepas Viejas, and their sparkling wines, Luna de Murviedro Sparkling Brut, Luna de Murviedro Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc and Cava Luna de Murviedro Brut) have once again been acclaimed internationally, both at the Berliner Wine Trophy and the China Wine Spirits Awards of Hong Kong.
The gold medals went to Vega Libre Reserva 2012, a blending of Tempranillo and Bobal, Murviedro Colección Sauvignon Blanc 2015, Gran Castillo Sparkling Viura & Moscato, Luna de Murviedro Sparkling Brut and Luna de Murviedro Sparkling, whereas Vox Populi Bobal 2013 won a silver.
At the China Wine Spirits Awards, there were two more golds, for Murviedro Cepas Viejas and Monteros Crianza 2013, featuring Monastrell and Merlot.
Meanwhile at the Japan Wine Challenge in Tokyo, Murviedro achieved six bronze medals and three silvers.
Furthermore, Murviedro’s Estrella de Murviedro Frizzante was the only Spanish sparkling wine to be chosen for the top ten sparkling wines of the world at the Effervescents du Monde festival held from 16th to 19th November 2016 in Dijon, France.
