Arctic Melted…..by Valencian Jazz

The most northerly jazz festival on the planet is called Live sound and it is held at Norilsk, Siberia.

Valencian saxophonist Kiko Berenguer, from Javea, brought a touch of Valencian heat to those colder parts when he became the only Spaniard to play a concert there.

As well as three concerts in Moscow, Kiko performed his music north of the Arctic Circle to an enthusiastic audience on the 28th October 2017.

Berenguer studied at the Conservatory of Valencia, where he also became a teacher. He continued his studies at the Lizeum in Barcelona and took lessons with some of the most famous teachers, among others Daniel Deffayet, Jean Marie Londeix (Paris), Ralph Moore, and Chris Cheek (N.Y.).

He has collaborated with internationally renowned musicians such as Richie Cole, Dennis Rowland, Madeline Bell, Pat Metheny, MP Mossman, Skip Hadden, Michel Camilo, Claudio Roditi, and Terell Stafford.

He has played concerts and toured in France, Switzerland, Germany, Portugal, Italy, and the US performing at the Montreux and Montreal festivals.
