‘Ocean’ might seem to be a bit of a strange name to give to a range of bed linen and towels for hotels, restaurants and hospitals, and yet the Valencian company Vayoil knew what they were doing when they chose the name.
Vayoil is the first company to manufacture its products from plastics recovered from the seas; 8 million tons a year at the last count.
The project is part of a United Nations campaign to clean the seas, and Vayoil also has a policy of Corporative Social Responsibility, which forms an important part of the DNA of the company.
The company also collaborates actively with NGOs such as Asociación Integra SOS, which helps those people who are excluded from normal everyday life, Taller Mare Mazzarello, with donations of materials and products which this charity converts into children’s clothes for underdeveloped countries.
They have also been a collaborator with the National Federation of Cystic Fibrosis since 2014. This association investigates and helps families whose members have this rare disease. Vayoil collaborates with research of this genetic disease; in the improvement of quality of life of sufferers (children and teenagers) and family members.
They also work with Cáritas Diocesana of Barcelona through a collaboration agreement with Felac (Federación Española de Asociaciones de Fabricantes de Maquinaria para Hostelería, Colectividades e Industrias Afines). In this case, Vayoil Textil which is a member of FELAC, has undertaken the task of donating textile equipment to various centres that this association manages; Day Centres for the elderly, Shelters, Maternity Support Centres or Homes for the Homeless.
Based in Paterna, Valencia, the company has over 200 European clients and in Africa operates in Tunisia, Morocco, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.
