. Remittel has been one of the winners at the International Summit on SDGs and Agenda 2030 at Local Level.
. The award was given for the direct impact on citizens of its work consisting of reusing used cooking oil to transform it into biofuel, among other things.
The Valencian company, part of the Selev Biogroup, has recently received an award for the sustainable actions it has been carrying out in municipalities over the years and which have a direct impact on citizens. This award has been framed specifically in the International Summit on SDGs and Agenda 2030 in the Local Sphere, held in Alfafar (Valencia) with the aim of creating collaborative networks between public entities and organisations.
In particular, the work carried out by Remittel in the collection of used cooking oil to be transformed into biofuel, thus reducing global warming, the carbon footprint and CO2 emissions, among others, has been recognised.
The award was presented to Remittel’s manager, Norberto Soro, by the Member of Parliament for Transparency and Social Responsibility, Mentxu Balaguer, and the Mayor of Alfafar, Juan Ramón Adsuara. Participants in the organisation included the Ibero-American Network of Good Governance and Equality (RIBGI), the Ibero-American Institute of Governance and Innovation, and the School of Government of the Organisation of American States (OAS).
The Valencian company Remittel is a leader in the collection of bio-waste. It has different treatment and processing plants, offering a personalised service with guarantees and tailor-made solutions, with the aim of caring for the environment and creating a more sustainable and circular business model.
The company provides value to more than 150 public bodies, as well as to the most important catering groups.
Remittel also carries out various responsible actions as part of its commitment to society and sustainability. One of them is the continuous support offered by the social organisation “Rastro Solidario”, which has several aid programmes.
One of the projects here is “Aceite Solidario”, where Remittel is responsible for the collection of oil in Spain for social purposes. It collects used oil from bars, restaurants, schools, hospitals and homes.
On the other hand, the company participates in the social programme “The tree that gives life”, where trees are planted in deforested areas thanks to the valorisation of used oil in its recycling as Biodiesel.
And more recently, it also supports the social programme “Learn without barriers”, which has a multidisciplinary team to respond to a need that is very present today: training support for people with intellectual disabilities through technology.
REMITTEL is an expert company in the collection and management of used and organic oil, and forms part of SELEV BIOGROUP, the bio-waste recovery, sustainability and circular economy division of NUOVA SESAC, a business group that, for three generations, has been dedicated to the productive and industrial economy with a firm objective: to be committed to social, economic and environmental sustainability.
SELEV BIOGROUP is also made up of the companies SELEV PET INDUSTRY (collection of sandach 3 and manufacturer of proteins and fats for animal feed), BIOCOM ENERGÍA and BIOCOM CUENCA (manufacturers of advanced biodiesel), and MAVASER (collection of oils and sandach 1 and 2).
Meanwhile, the holding company NUOVA SESAC, is the entrepreneurial dream of the Cases Monterde family, whose business vocation has allowed them to achieve a model of responsible development. A 100% Spanish group of companies that offer multinational products and services, but that maintain a family atmosphere in every interaction with their customers and suppliers.
