A short metro ride to the Moncada-Alfara station will give you the opportunity to visit one of the nicest squares you could ever hope to find a bar in.
The bar in question, La Plaza, is surrounded by some very attractive architecture, the star of which is the Place/Castle of La Señoría or de los Cruilles.
This 14th century building dates back in various formats to the time of King Jaume I’s conquest, where the original Moorish farm buidings were donated to his followers in 1249.
In 1595, Cosme Cruilles sold it to the future saint Juan de Ribera, whose statue can be seen in front of the palace today.
Today the square is bordered by the Town Hall and by the church of San Bartolomé, making a pleasant and architecturally satisfying location for a bar, whose terrace ventures generously out into the square.
