In February 2021 he was invited by the Universidad Católica de Los Ángeles (UCLA) to become a lecturer on advanced Jazz Guitar Performance.

This is not his first experience of the American dream. Way back in 2003, he taught at the University of Columbia and the City College of New York, having appeared in 2002 at the famous jazz club, Birdland.

He has worked with many of the great contemporary jazz musicians, including Lou Bennett, Lou Donaldson, Lonnie Smith, Idris Muhammad, Billy Lewis Brooks, Arturo O’Farrill, Chico O’Farrill, Dave Schnitter, Ester Andujar, Johnny Griffin, Benny Golson, Joe Lovano, Tom Harrell, Anthony Jackson, Louie Bellson and Jan Akkerman.

He won the international competition of the jazz festival Getxo in 1990, and in 1989, he played as the representative of Spain in the big band of EBU. He won the IAJE Award NEW YORK JAZZ ACADEMY AWARD 2007 (International Association for Jazz Education) for Outstanding Service to Jazz Education, as well as the Music Award “Biennial Young Creators of Mediterranean Europe”, 1992 and the World Jazz Award 2005.
