Valencian Women Win Euro Basketball Cup

Valencia Basket has won the European Women’s Basketball Cup 2020-2021, by beating the Italian team Reyer Venezia by 81-82.

The team consisted of Cristina Ouviña, Queralt Casas, Rebecca Allen, Celeste Trahan-Davis, Raquel Carrera, Anna Gómez, Lorena Segura, Leticia Romero, Laura Juskaite, Laura Gil, María Pina, Marie Gülich, and trainer Rubén Burgos.

EuroCup Women started in 2002, and had had 14 different winners, with Dynamo Moscow (2007; 2013; 2014) and Galatasaray (2009; 2018) the only clubs to win multiple titles.

Valencia Basket became the 15th club to win EuroCup Women and the first Spanish one, with previous winners from France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Russia and Turkey.

The final took place in Szekszard, Hungary in a final four competition from 9-11 April 2021.
