Valencian e-sports in Rio

22 million Spaniards play e-sports apparently, sweating on their sofas through marathons of intense fingerwork.

Many of them will make use of the Valencian company Encom Games, which recently signed a deal in Brazil which will put them in charge of the video games festival there known as Dreamhack in 2019.

The festival, founded in Sweden in 1994, has operated in Valencia since 2010, and plans are afoot to hold two festivals a year in Spain plus one in Portugal, and to expand into other countries in South and Central America.

Encom was founded in 1972.
