SOCRATIC CLASSROOM.

We are a group of students from Ribalta High School and today we would like to tell you about an innovative project in our school. It is called the Socratic Classroom.

It is an open space where we can learn. It’s going to be something different, isn’t it?

The space is being designed by us. At the moment we are painting some pallets and then we wil make a vertical garden in them. In one corner we intend to grow some vegetables such as tomatoes and lettuces.

Then we will put some benches to sit forming a square shape.What are the advantages of learning outdoors? We think it is boring to stay inside one classroom all day and learning there will be more fun.

We will work in groups and we will see how positive this is.

The space will be our responsibility so we will keep it clean and tidy. The teachers will have to be creative when planning their lessons because they will not have a blackboard.

The only disadvantage we see is that we may get distracted by the students who are doing P E.

Moreover, we will not be able to be there if it rains or if it is very cold.

In conclusion, we are very excited about this project and we think it is an excellent idea for reduced groups.
