SANLUCAR AND LLUSAR: TANGERINES FOR OLD PEOPLE’S HOMES IN VALENCIA


 The premium fruit and vegetable brand SanLucar and the agricultural producer Llusar y Cía. have donated a ton of tangerines for the group most affected by the current health crisis, the elderly.

Thus, and with the intermediation of the National Police and the Army, the 1000 kilos of citrus fruits have been distributed among a total of five homes for the elderly, located in the city of Valencia.

“The impact of the coronavirus in the old people’s homes is something we could not ignore”, explains the founder of the SanLucar Group, Stephan Rötzer. “We have always promoted social actions at SanLucar, linked to the promotion of health and nutrition. And now more than ever we have to show our strong commitment to the Valencian society and to the business philosophy that guides our activity: Taste in harmony with people and nature”, he adds.

“In these times of uncertainty, we agricultural producers have the responsibility to supply society with a basic need product such as fresh fruit. But we must also go one step further and support those groups that are suffering the most from the impact of this crisis. Our citrus is a traditional Valencian product with which older people are familiar and this is why we wanted to make this gesture with the centres that are assisting them”, affirms Jorge Llusar, from the Llusar y Cía company.
