The LEONARDO European Project “OPEN NEW FOOD”, coordinated by FEDACOVA, will increase the awareness and competences related to Innovation of managers of the Traditional Food Industry  SMEs.

KICK OFF MEETING

OPEN NEW FOOD is a LEONARDO Project for the Transference of Innovation. The main objective of Open New Food is to increase the awareness and competences of the managers of Traditional Food Industry SMEs regarding Collaborative Food Product Development in order to boost the “integrated value chain model” of food production, through the cooperation of transnational partners. This will greatly increase the optimization of the whole process and therefore the development of products that fit  in better with the target groups’ requirements.

OPEN NEW FOOD is an initiative of a broad European Consortium led by FEDACOVA with the participation of  SETBIR (Turkey), SEVT (Greece), FFDI (Czech Republic), Aalborg University (Denmark), AINIA (Spain) and Ghent University (Belgium).

The main tangible result is a TRAINING ePLATFORM, which will allow managers to access the contents developed in the project including Theoretical Modules, Practical Modules and Awareness information. Every tool and content will be developed in the partners’ own languages

The target of the project is to directly train 150 managers of the Traditional Food Industry SMEs during the project’s lifetime.

The Food Associations of the Consortium will develop National Open Innovation Units, stable teams in charge of the Project’s results and sustainability throughout the time of the project, thereby multiplying its impact.

The project was carried in the period from 1/10/2013 to 30/09/2013 and it was funded by the European Commission through the LIFELONG LEARNING PROGRAMME 2013.
