Linkener: Paying Less for Light

The Valencian energy efficiency solutions company Linkener has started installing its first smart meters in Italian and Portuguese hydraulic power firms, photovoltaic plants and other types of energy-consuming companies.

Linkener has decided to go into Italy because there the energy costs, including taxes and fees are very high for SMEs. In addition, Italy has modernised its policy on of smart metering services with the obligation to install submetering in ISO 50001 companies. It is expected that by 2020 all Italian consumers will have switched to free market traders, making such switching common practice.
