Isaval: Don’t Paint it Black

The Valencian paint manufacturing company Isaval is helping to bring a little bit of colour to Cuba, or rather, restoring its original colours in the cities of Trinidad and Havana, the latter of which is currently celebrating its 500th anniversary. For the project Isaval has prepared a catalogue of 164 different shades of colour from which the cities have made their choices.

Valencian paint maker Isaval closed 2015 with a turnover of 37 million euros, 15% of which was generated by its increasing penetration in Caribbean markets. By 2018 it had reached 44 million euros despite the crisis, an 8% increase on the previous year.

Perhaps all the unemployed are getting bored at home staring at the walls and have decided to paint them; whatever the reason, one Valencian company, Isaval, founded in 1968, managed to increase its turnover by 16% back in mid-crisis 2010.

After having invested over a million euros and increasing its workforce by 9%, 20% of 2010’s revenues of 34 million euros came from exports, particularly in Portugal and France, but also in Eastern Europe, 16 countries in all.

This Valencian company, with almost 300 employees and premises of 21,000 square metres based in Ribarroja del Turia, just outside the capital, also has branches in Madrid, Seville, Malaga, the Canary Islands, Majorca, Peru and Cuba.

Isaval has demonstrated that the future lies in modernised, hi-tech systems of production and logistics, leading to reliability and consequent customer satisfaction, as well as the need to internationalise distribution.

Spearheading their advances in new technologies and concern for the environment is their stellar insulation product ‘Rhonatherm’ used on building facades and contributing to important energy saving.

Now, the fruits of their policies are being harvested as Isaval expands in Latin America, with a new Peruvian subsidiary company in Lima and a warehouse in Lorín costing an investment of 200,000 euros.

The company has also grown spectacularly in China, where they already have 5 shops and a million euros of revenue.
