In May 2014, Caxton College students Ana Araj from Lebanon and Benjamin Chen from China won third prize in the annual robotics competition “Desafio Robot,” which was held at the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia.
Secondary, Baccalaureate and vocational students from all over the Valencian Community participated in the event. The Caxton College team was one of the youngest teams, so it was a fantastic achievement for them.
The aim of this competition is to challenge students’ intelligence and creativity. Ana and Benjamin chose a piece of music and then choreographed dance moves for a robot, which was programmed to follow these movements. The programming language that they used was C++, which is very popular among software engineers.
