Valencia’s international film festival Cinejove is 30 years old this year, and once more it is opening its doors to Valencia, to the world, and especially to young, aspiring film makers everywhere, who, in the tradition of the festival, will have a unique chance to show their talent to the world in a major, international film festival.
The festival runs this year from 19 to 26 June, with full length contributions from the UK, France, Albania, Iran, Holland, Sweden and Germany, among others.
There will also be 56 shorts from 28 different countries competing for the coveted Luna de Valencia awards.
This year’s special awards have been given to Swedish director Ruben Östlund and German born Croatian Vuk Jevremovic.
There will also be a silver screen in the park with the special Horror and Humour section in the Viveros park, featuring classic films such as Ghostbusters, Gremlins and Nightmare on Elm Street.
The festival presenter will once again be the enchanting actress, Ana Álvarez, possibly Spain’s most interesting film star, whose reading list includes Nietzsche and Jean Paul Sartre.
