As Valencian cinemas reopen, starting with Spain’s oldest drive-in cinema in Denia (see article below), a new project to open Europe’s largest drive-in is being launched.
Cinemacar is a project based in Rabasa, Alicante, which occupies a plot of 45,000 square metres dedicated to entertainment, culture and gastronomy.
According to Nando Coderch, their experience setting up festivals, concerts and tours, most of which have been cancelled due to the Covid crisis, has led them to venture out by acquiring a new, fixed space.
So confident are they of the potential of the concept, that they are already looking for other sites at Seville, Albacete, Murcia, Valencia and Madrid to emulate the model
