Amanda is an English writer who has lived in Valencia for seven years. A traumatic event, when she was a correspondent for “The Times” in New York, led her to the Guardian of Light, an enigmatic old man who guards “the Other Side”, and through him she will learn of the existence of Nely and Ruth. The three women will develop a strong friendship and will gradually discover certain mysteries that surround them. United by a common event in the past, and that only the Guardian knows, their lives will make sense from their meeting, but: an unexpected murder, an abusive ex-husband and the ghostly world that surrounds them, will make them unravel between two parallel realities, where love and friendship will allow them to move forward. How far will they go, will they find their balance, will they overcome their traumas?
Amanda’s story was written by Teresa Lluch, who was born in Valencia one rainy September and started writing almost as soon as she learned to read. Reading the classics inspired her first writings, which were in poetry.
Her scientific interests and fascination for nature motivated her to study and obtain a doctorate in Biology. Later she studied a degree in Clinical Psychology, which brought her closer to the human psyche, and brought back her fascination for writing, and this passion for literature has led her to write short stories, many of which have been selected and published.
In the field of short stories, she was awarded a prize for her text “El Laberinto de la Vida” (The Labyrinth of Life) in the 8th edition of the Hospital Universitario la Fe literary prize organised by the José Luis Sampedro Association. Her short story “El tiempo del abuelo” was also selected in the short story competition called ‘un sueño de verano’. She has also published a book of short stories in collaboration with ten literary colleagues, entitled: Minicuentos para minirratos.
Two years ago she was introduced to Amanda, the perfect character to write her first novel in the genre of mystery with fantasy and a touch of humour: And holding her hand, she has been shaping this work entitled: Amanda and the Guardian of Light, in which her character has taken Tere into this exciting world of literature, which fills her days with emotion.
