Paella Becomes a Fast Food!

Paco Brocal will face the second edition of the 15×15 Challenge, on September 20th 2019, on the occasion of the World Paella Day.

The Valencian chef, a specialist in food intolerance, who is a rice specialist and runs the Bonanza restaurant in Naquera, intends to improve upon the 2018 15×15 Challenge of cooking 15 paellas in 15 different places.

Valencia, Alboraya, Albal, Alcàsser, El Saler and Nàquera will be the locations that will host the 16 paellas for 24 hours.

The provisional route is:

04:00 – 04:45 h Mercavalencia (Fish)

06:00 – 07:00 h Paella School (Pinedo)

07:30 – 08:30 h Meat Felix (Albal)

09:00 – 10:00 h Gastronomy – Feria Valencia

10:30 – 11:15 h Canvas Restaurant (Valencia)

11:30 – 12:30 h Cap I Casal Restaurant (Valencia)

12:45 – 14:15 h Valencia City Council (Plaza Ayuntamiento)

14:45 – 15:45 h Dravet Foundation (La Patacona – Alboraya)

16:15 – 17:15 h To be determined

18:30 – 20:30 h Llauradors de Somnis at Alcácer Town Hall

21:00 – 22:00 h Restaurant K’ Anros (Alcàsser)

23:00 – 23:59 h Restaurante Arroces y Brasas Bonanza 2.0 (Nàquera)

There ar four novelties for this edition:

Paco will be collaborating with associations such as: Adela CV (ELA Association of the Valencian Community), Dravet Foundation of Valencia, Casa de la Caridad (in collaboration with the World Paella Day) and Casa Ronald Foundation.

Some of the people who will attend will be State Security Forces and Corps, Night work personnel such as truck drivers, industrial workers, market workers, health personnel, volunteers.

In addition, ecological crockery and cutlery, and even some ecological products will be employed.

At 23.59 on 20 September, when the last paella finishes at the Restaurante Arroces y Brasas Bonanza 2.0 in Náquera, Paco’s hometown, the only place in Spain that will continue for another hour as International Paella Day, will be in the Canary Islands, so chefs Aridane Rivero and Samuel Cabrera will connect live.

The event will be broadcast live online 24 hours, via streaming, social networks and the organiser’s website.
