Brooklyn’s On stage at Kingsborough was the scenario in October 2017 for this Valencian theatre group’s premiere performance in the USA, part of a tour that also took them to Washington’s Millenium Stage as part of the Euro Kids Festival.
Their award winning performance of Dot. Inspired in the work of American artist Sol Lewit, combines dance, drama and technology in a work performed by Ezequiel Gil and Laia Sorribes and directed by Juan Pablo Mendiola with help from Mamen García, Damiàn Sánchez and Joan Miquel Reig.
A flexible production, Dot has now been performed in five languages; Valenciano, Spanish, English, French and Italian, and is aimed at children between the ages of 3 and 8.
The Maduixa Teatre, which has its base in the rice growing village of Sueca, has performed over 2,500 times in more than 20 countries around the world.
