The Instituto de Robótica (IRTIC) of the Universitat de València (UV) and the Ciutat de les Arts y les Ciències will allow terrestrials to visit Mars using the technology of a holographic visor that they have developed.
The technology involved is the Cheoptics holographic projector, which displays revolving 3D animations inside a four-sided transparent pyramid. It was developed in 2004 by Dutch engineers and designers from viZoo and Ramboll, and uses mirror reflections.
The device forms part of the Mars, Conquest of a Dream exhibition in the Valencia Science Museum, and is considered an example of edutainment; both fun and informative.
