Nomad Kitchen

Some people think you have to be crazy to be a chef, and then again there’s Nomad Kitchen (get it? No Mad)

Never mind.

People are becoming more conscious these days that a hamburger a day won’t keep the doctor away, and neither will it help sustain our fragile planet. Projects like Nomad Kitchen make sustainability not only real but tasty too.

Alicia and Marta are the culprits. Alicia has been a vegetarian for 10 years and for the last 5 has consumed a completely plant-based diet.

Marta teaches yoga and has worked in London and Australia, which may explain why their website is partly in English:

https://www.nomadkitchenvlc.com/

Their raw materials come from that culinary paradise the Mercado Central and they offer a series of menus ranging from Asian fusion to (dare I say it?) burgers! Although theirs are made from beetroot and soy.

The packaging too is ecological, although you are advised not to eat it, and is decomposable.

Orders can be delivered or taken away, but order soon as their initial 20 a day have already risen to 40. What’s more they now have an online store, so people will be able to order from their site.

Our thanks to Enzo Diarte, who supplied the photos.
